GDAP Cosplay Competition Rules and Guidelines
BPO Summit Philippines, happening on December 2 and 3 at Crowne Plaza, Galleria, Manila, together with the Gamers Development Association of the Philippines (GDAP) will be holding a cosplay competition featuring video game characters.

GAMECRAFT COSPLAY COMPETITION RULES AND GUIDELINES
General Guidelines:
1. This competition is open all cosplay enthusiasts in the Greater Manila Area.
2. All characters portrayed must originate from a video game that has appeared on any gaming platform (i.e. PC, Playstation, XBox, Gamecube, Dreamcast, Gameboy, etc.).
3. There are 3 categories, Best Male, Best Female, and Best Armor/Mecha Cosplay. The overall winner will be named Grand Champion, and the top of each category, excluding the Grand Champion, will be awarded Best Male, Best Female, and Best Armor/Mecha Cosplay, respectively.
4. The prizes for the winners are as follows:
Grand Champion - PHP 10k
Best Male Cosplay PHP 5K
Best Female Cosplay PHP 5K
Best Armor/Mecha Cosplay PHP 5K
5. Upon registration, the category will be decided by the staff handling the registration. The main basis for the Armor/Mecha category is that the cosplayer should have his whole torso, legs and arms covered in simulated hard armor (i.e. plate mail ) or mecha attire.
Criteria for Judging:
1. Accuracy: 30% (How closely the costume follows the original design of the game character portrayed.)
2. Craftsmanship: 30% (How well the costume has been made, the level of difficulty involved in creating the costume, and the creativity employed in materials and construction techniques.)
3. Characterization: 40% (How well the contestant portrays the personality of the character they are cosplaying.)

Rules, Regulations and Other Information:
1. The Cosplay Competition will be held on December 3,2008 at the Crowne Plaza Ballroom CDE. Registration is at the entrance of Crowne Plaza Ballroom A.
2. All characters portrayed must originate from a video game that has appeared on any gaming platform (i.e. PC, Playstation, XBox, Gamecube, Dreamcast, Gameboy, etc.). Characters that have originally come from anime, manga, comics, cartoons, novels, television shows, and movies – even those that have games featuring them as characters, are officially disqualified.
3. The event organizers reserve sole discretion in determining if your cosplay character does or does not follow this rule.
4. During the competition, absolutely no real and/or dangerous weapons will be allowed as props. Fire props and messy props (i.e. fake blood) are also not allowed. Nudity and/or skimpy outfits are not disallowed, but not encouraged either.
5. All cosplayers will be responsible for their own safety, and they will be asked to sign a document assuring everyone concerned that neither the staff nor the organizers are responsible for any injuries and/or inconveniences resulting from their participation in the competition.
6. Failure to comply with any of the above rules, as well as disregarding written and verbal instructions from the events organizers will result in the disqualification of the participant from the competition.
7. The events organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entry that we consider to be unsuitable, inappropriate, or irrelevant for any reason.
8. At any point the events organizers reserve the right to cancel the contest and put on hold the distribution of prizes. However, this will not occur unless absolutely necessary and under extreme circumstances.
