What: Ozine Fest 2009
When: April 3-5 2009 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Where: Megatrade Hall 2

Since Hataw Hanep Hero was mostly a flop (take a good look at the multiply journals of regular cosplayers to regular convention goers), a lot of people in the cosplay, anime and manga community want another round of convention goodness.  Luckily the upcoming Ozine Fest 2009 looks to live up to that demand.  Ozine has always been a big event and now they’ve gotten bigger, as the event will now span three full days instead of the usual two (wonder how they’ll schedule this one).

Ozine Fest 2009

In any case here’s some words from the Ozine Crew.

Hungry for anime? Itching to cosplay? Looking to satiate your otaku desires?

Then get ready as Otakuzine Anime Magazine brings you its 5th and most ambitious Anime event ever:

Ozine fest ‘09!!

Prepare for not one, not two, but THREE days of anime and cosplay mayhem enough to satisfy hungry otakus all over the country.

What’s in Ozine Fest ‘09?
We introduced the Ozine Maid Cafe during Anicon ‘08 last October 5 and due to popular demand, the organizers decided to provide a BIGGER venue and more kawaii maids to serve and entertain you while you dine in Ozine Fest ‘09.

Event space not enough? Then introducing the Ozine Lounge wherein event goers can sit back and relax while surfing the internet and reading our magazines with some drinks. Staying in one place not your thing? Then try your luck in the Matsuri Area wherein you will get the chance to participate in the following activities: Gold Fish Scooping, Balloon Scooping, Darts and Balloons, and Pull a String. The Matsuri not only plans to entertain its attendees with fun games but it will also have the usual Caramelized Apple, Choco Banana, Onigiri, Taiyaki, and other traditional snacks common to a Japanese Festival.

We will be providing more updates soon. So be sure to check our entries regularly.
As you can see there’ll be TONS of activities for the upcoming con.  I personally am looking forward to the Maid Cafe (I didn’t get into AniCon’s Maid Cafe and I still regret it) and the raffle (PS3 please XD). I have some plans for to cosplay one of my fave games (Monster Hunter) and I’m building my costume as we speak.  Hopefully I can make it in time as this is my biggest build yet.  Wish me luck as well as those in the cosplay community ^_~.

As always, this post will be updated for further announcements like on-site contests and their regulations and scheduling of events.  Stay tuned!

Ozine Fest 09 Details:

Ticket Price:
Php 100.00 per day.
Php 250.00 for 3-day pass.

cosplayer’s blog, ep 1

September 5th, 2008 by laierx-saga-from-beyond

this would be my first blog as a cosplayer.  maraming beses ko nang gustong gumawa ng blog about my cosplaying, pero parating ‘alang time dahil busy sa school, graduating na kasi ako this year.  bukas i would be competing at the Robofest, an all mecha and robot cosplay event sa robinsons metro east.  again, lalaban ulit ako as the legendary Bio-Robo from the series Bio-man.

But the question remains…. will the Bio-Robo be able to be fare agains a horde of super robots, gattai mechas and other mechanical giants?   will the reigning material rubber foam defeat the recycled cosplayers, the preservers of the ecology?  will my commitment to cosplay using recycled materials be shaken after the event?  is it time to let the Bio-Robo a rest?

Only after the event shall these questions be answered.Cosplay_catwalk_001_1

this pic was during my first walk on the ramp as a full pledge cosplayer.  i won 3rd place overall.  first time and a winner.  Galing!

king without a crown

December 11th, 2005 by laierx-saga-from-beyond

What’s this feeling?
My love will rip a hole in the ceiling
Givin’ myself to you from the essence of my being
Sing to my G-d all these songs of love and healing
Want Moshiach now so it’s time we start revealing

You’re all that I have and you’re all that I need
Each and every day I pray to get to know you please
I want to be close to you, yes I’m so hungry
You’re like water for my soul when it gets thirsty
Without you there’s no me
You’re the air that I breathe
Sometimes the world is dark and I just can’t see
With these, demons surround all around to bring me down to negativity
But I believe, yes I believe, I said I believe
I’ll stand on my own two feet
Won’t be brought down on one knee
Fight with all of my might and get these demons to flee
Hashem’s rays fire blaze burn bright and I believe
Out of darkness comes light, twilight unto the heights
Crown Heights burnin’ up all through till midnight
Said, thank you to my G-d, now I finally got it right
And I’ll fight with all of my heart, and all a’ my soul, and all a’ my might

Me no want no sinsemilla.
That would only bring me down
Burn away my brain no way my brain is to compound
Torah food for my brain let it rain till I drown
Thunder!
Let the blessings come down

Strip away the layers and reveal your soul
Got to give yourself up and then you become whole
You’re a slave to yourself and you don’t even know
You want to live the fast life but your brain moves slow
If you’re trying to stay high then you’re bound to stay low
You want G-d but you can’t deflate your ego
If you’re already there then there’s nowhere to go
If you’re cup’s already full then its bound to overflow
If you’re drowning in the water’s and you can’t stay afloat
Ask Hashem for mercy and he’ll throw you a rope
You’re looking for help from G-d you say he couldn’t be found
Looking up to the sky and searchin’ beneath the ground
Like a King without his Crown
Yes, you keep fallin’ down
You really want to live but can’t get rid of your frown
Tried to reach unto the heights and wound bound down on the ground
Given up your pride and the you heard a sound
Out of night comes day and out of day comes light
Nullified to the One like sunlight in a ray,
Makin’ room for his love and a fire gone blaze

Reelin’ him in
Where ya been
Where ya been
Where ya been for so long
It’s hard to stay strong been livin’ in galus (exile) for 2000 years strong
Where ya been for so long
Been livin in this exhile for too long
